Colombo (23 February 2026) – Pakistani spinner Usman Tariq, who became popular in the cricket world because of his unusual bowling action, has finally shared the secret behind it.
Usman Tariq is one of Pakistan’s talented bowlers. In the ongoing World Cup, he has taken 8 wickets so far and is currently among the top five bowlers of the tournament. His performance has already shown signs of a bright future.
However, in international cricket, Usman Tariq is talked about more for his unique bowling style than just his sharp spin. Opposing teams often feel uncomfortable facing him, while the Pakistan team considers his action a “trump card.”
Speaking about his special bowling action, Usman said that he developed this style while playing tennis-ball cricket in his early days. He explained that if his bowling is watched in slow motion, the timing looks perfectly fine. The only difference is a slight change in speed.

Talking about the headband he wears during bowling, Usman explained that the ball sometimes came in front of his eyes, which disturbed his focus. To solve this issue, he started wearing a headband to keep his vision clear.
Looking ahead to the Super Eight stage, Usman said that Pakistani spinners have prepared a clear strategy against their opponents. He added that if the pitch supports spin bowling, they will be able to execute their plans more effectively.
