What Will Happen to the Global Sumud Flotilla Passengers? Israel Reveals the Plan

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has said that the activists of the Global Sumud Flotilla will be deported back to Europe.

According to international media reports, the Israeli Foreign Ministry stated that the flotilla was stopped safely, and all the people onboard are being moved to an Israeli port.

Reports say that Israeli forces have arrested 223 human rights activists, and the navy has also taken control of 20 boats.

Meanwhile, 23 boats of the Gaza Sumud Flotilla are still continuing their journey towards Gaza.

On the other side, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas has strongly condemned the attack on the flotilla and the arrests of its activists, calling it an act of terrorism.

In a statement, Hamas said that the Israeli attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla — which was carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza — and the arrest of activists is nothing but piracy and terrorism.

Hamas added that Israel targeted both activists and journalists who were on the aid boats, which is a crime against humanity. They warned that this action will further increase anger against Israel around the world.

According to AFP, Hamas has called on the international community and the United Nations to condemn Israel’s actions and take responsibility. The group demanded urgent measures to protect the activists and aid boats.

It should be noted that Israeli forces attacked the flotilla carrying aid to Gaza and arrested 200 activists from 37 countries, including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and former Pakistani senator Mushtaq Ahmed.

Despite these arrests, reports confirm that around 30 ships of the Global Sumud Flotilla are still moving forward towards Gaza to complete their mission.

A spokesperson for Global Sumud said, “We still have about 30 ships trying to reach the shores of Gaza while avoiding Israeli military vessels.”
