The Asia Cup 2025 final will be played between Pakistan and India on Sunday in Dubai. However, tension between the two teams has increased a lot before the final. Because of this, it is unlikely that both captains will do the traditional photo shoot with the trophy before the final.
Organizers confirmed that nothing like this will happen today, Saturday. A final decision regarding the photo shoot will be made before the final match on Sunday.
Earlier, during the two Pakistan-India matches in this tournament, the Indian team did not shake hands with the Pakistani team. The same situation seems likely in the final, so the chance of both captains posing with the trophy is low.
Pakistan’s team captain, Salman Ali Agha, will hold a press conference tonight at 7 PM Pakistani time.
Before the final, the Pakistan team will practice at the ICC Academy in Dubai from 7 PM to 10 PM Pakistani time.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s fast bowler Mohammad Amir expressed surprise at Sri Lanka’s strong performance against India.
In the Super Four stage match of the Asia Cup, India set a target of 203 runs for Sri Lanka to win. Sri Lanka’s batting is still ongoing in the chase.
Pathum Nissanka is currently on the crease with 76 runs, while Kusal Perera scored 58 runs before getting out.
At the time of this update, Sri Lanka needed 67 more runs in 42 balls to win the match.
