Hyderabad (21 September 2025): In India, a strange incident took place where a young man disguised himself as a girl and robbed his own friend’s house.
According to Indian media, police officials said the incident happened on 16 September when Shivraj, a resident of Uday Nagar, had gone to Nizamabad with his family. Before leaving, Shivraj’s son had told his friend Harshit about their travel plans.
The next day, when Shivraj’s family returned, they saw that the lock of their house was broken. They found out that 6.75 tolas of gold jewellery and 1.10 lakh rupees in cash had been stolen from their cupboard.
The family immediately filed a complaint with the police. Inspector Sheikh Qaviuddin and Sub-Inspector Yaseen Ali started the investigation with their team.
CCTV footage showed a girl entering and leaving Shivraj’s house. Later, an important lead came when a local resident told the police that a man had come to check the CCTV cameras. On checking the footage, Shivraj’s son identified the person as his friend Harshit.
Police raided Harshit’s house and recovered 6.75 tolas of gold jewellery and 85,000 rupees in cash.
During questioning, Harshit admitted that he had disguised himself as a girl to avoid being caught. He said he committed the theft to pay off loans from loan apps and had already used 25,000 rupees of the stolen money to repay some of the debt.
Harshit was arrested and sent to judicial custody. Police are still investigating the extent of his financial debts and whether he is involved in other crimes.
