YouTube, the world’s most popular video platform, has announced that it will remove one of its features that has been around for over 10 years and replace it with a new option, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Friday.
According to a report by The Verge, YouTube is working on shutting down its Trending section the page that helped users discover popular videos from around the world.
YouTube said that its Trending page and Trending Now section will be removed from the platform within the next two weeks. Instead, users will now see YouTube Charts, a feature that ranks content based on its performance.
YouTube Charts allows users to find the most popular videos in specific categories. For now, it includes music videos, podcasts, and movie trailers.
The company also shared that more categories will be added to Charts over time. Until then, trending gaming videos can be seen under the Gaming Explore Page.
In a blog post, YouTube explained that when they first launched the feature in 2015, the “What’s Trending” section made it easy to list viral videos in one place.
But now, the platform says that trending videos come from many different fan communities and micro-trends are growing more popular across diverse groups of creators than ever before.
