Zainab Kamran Tells Court “I Am 14 Years Old, Tricked and Taken from Karachi to Punjab”

Karachi (October 6, 2025): A shocking case has come forward in the Sindh High Court. A young girl named Zainab Kamran, only 14 years old, was reportedly kidnapped from Karachi and taken to Muzaffargarh, Punjab, where a fake marriage was arranged for her. The case has revealed many serious details as the hearing began.

After the report of the minor girl’s kidnapping, the police recovered Zainab from Punjab and presented her before the Sindh High Court. Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput asked the girl about her age. Zainab told the court, “I am 14 years old, and I was tricked into coming from Karachi to Punjab.”

Zainab further said, “The accused contacted me through social media. On April 8, they arranged a fake marriage for me, but they wrote the date one day earlier. I want to go back and live with my parents.”

The court then asked the investigating officer if he had recorded her statement. When he said no, the court ordered that her Section 164 statement should be recorded before a magistrate the same day. The judge said that the final decision would be made after hearing the girl’s statement.

Officials and Mafia Involved in Underage Marriages

Lawyer Jibran Nasir told the court that a group of people — including some government officials — is involved in sending underage girls outside Sindh to weaken the province’s child marriage laws. He said the Sindh government law clearly states that the minimum legal age for marriage is 18 years. He requested the court to officially declare this Karachi kidnapping and Punjab marriage illegal.

After hearing the arguments, the Sindh High Court asked all parties to present their final arguments on October 13.

Attack on Police Team Bringing Zainab Back

The investigating officer informed the court that the police rescued Zainab with the help of Punjab Police, but when they were bringing her back to Karachi, the kidnappers attacked them on GT Road. The attackers fired at the police in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The police responded with warning shots, and the attackers fled the scene.

The officer added that one of the suspects was hit by another vehicle and died during the chase. Lawyer Jibran Nasir told the court that the kidnappers then registered a murder case against Zainab’s father and the police officers for the suspect’s death.

He further said that Punjab Police detained Karachi Police officials and Zainab’s father. The Karachi officers were later released, but her father is still in Punjab Police custody. Therefore, he requested the court to provide security and protection to Zainab and her family.

The Acting Chief Justice asked if anyone from the opposing side appeared in court, but the prosecutor replied that no one showed up.

It is worth noting that 14-year-old Zainab Kamran was kidnapped from the Baloch Colony area of Karachi and taken to Muzaffargarh, Punjab.
